ABOUT THE ALLIANCE

The Alliance is a public, not-for-profit managed care health plan committed to making high quality health care services accessible and affordable to lower-income people of Alameda County. Established in January 1996, the Alliance was created by and for Alameda County residents.

The Alliance currently provides health care coverage to 90,000 children and adults through our Medi-Cal, Healthy Families, Alliance Group Care, and Healthy Kids programs. Alliance members choose from a network of over 1,700 doctors, 15 hospitals, 29 community health centers, and more than 140 pharmacies throughout Alameda County. The Alliance cares about the health of our community and reflects its cultural and linguistic diversity. Alliance providers, employees, and Board of Governors live in the cities that we serve.

The Alliance demonstrates that the managed care model can achieve the highest standard of care and successfully meet the individual needs of health plan members. Our members' optimal health is always our first priority.

The Alliance celebrated 10 years of service to the community in 2006. As we embark on our second decade, we look back at our accomplishments and our strong community ties with great pride. We remain deeply committed to our mission of serving Alameda County residents and look forward to many more years of service and exciting opportunities ahead.

Sincerely,
Ingrid Lamirault, CEO
