Shots protect children and adults against many serious problems. Shots can reduce or prevent sickness and early death. As many as 40,000 people die each year from problems that could have been stopped by a shot.
Babies and young children should receive shots on a frequent basis and need to be up to date. The doctor or clinic tracks when shots are needed by babies and young children. They also give you a record of the shots to keep with you. The Bay Area Immunization Registry helps doctors and nurses track your baby's shots.
Children and Adults should also be up to date on the Flu Shot. Alliance members should see their doctor about the need to get a flu shot and when to get it.
