You can get an eye exam for eyewear every 24 months from an eye doctor listed in the Vision Service Plan (VSP), the vision plan for Alameda Alliance for Health members. You do not need approval from your Primary Care Provider. To choose any eye doctor, look in the VSP "List of Doctors" Participating in "Medi-Cal". If you need other types of eye care or need an eye exam more than once every other year, talk to your VSP eye doctor. See the Evidence of Coverage for more information on vision care. Note: Alliance Family Care adult members age 19 and over are not covered for vision benefits.
