This section lists training resources and opportunities for providers and their office staff. Our goal is to support providers in advancing their expertise in caring for the Alliance populations and complying with Managed Care Medi-Cal mandated training.

Cultural Sensitivity

In order to ensure culturally responsive care, the Alliance requires providers and office staff to complete cultural sensitivity training during the new provider orientation and on a regular basis. Below are links to trainings and online resources to help prepare providers and clinic staff to meet the cultural and linguistic needs of their patients.

  • Alliance Cultural Sensitivity Training slide deck covers all required content including regulations, culture, communication, immigrants, language access, disability, aging, LGBTQ, literacy, and resources. This training is updated annually.
  • The Office of Minority Health, US Department of Health and Human Services – Cultural Competency Continuing Education
    • Trainings and toolkits.
    • Some programs offer CEU’s and/or require registration.
