You should schedule your child’s check-ups at:

• 2-4 days after birth
• 1 month
• 2 months
• 4 months
• 6 months
• 9 months
• 12 months
• 15 months
• 18 months
• 24 months
• 30 months

After this, every child should have a wellness check-up visit once a year from 3 to 21 years of age.

Preventive care for your child is important. Regular health check-ups include immunizations and screenings for early detection of illnesses and diseases.

The Alliance covers screenings anytime there is a need for them. These screenings include blood lead levels, developmental screenings, vision, hearing, and dental checks.

Preventive care such as immunizations are also covered to reduce risks of getting illnesses and diseases, like the flu. Preventive care services and screenings are available at no cost and without pre-approval (prior authorization).

Once you deliver, your baby’s health, dental and vision care is covered. You can add your newborn to your coverage by contacting the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
